What is the difference between the shipping marks and carton labels?
Carton label is pasted on the packing box, which is translated as case mark. While the shipping mark that mentioned in the bill of lading is it pasted or printed on the case?
There are main mark and side mark on the packing box, while the bill of document generally requires the main mark.
Both sides of the packing box should include some regular signs: brand name, goods number, size, amount, gross weight, net weight and box dimension. This is the side mark.
It is always named as the package standard. The mark is the custom name in the trade, which includes several parts usually (abbreviation of the import and export merchant, name of the destination and conference number). While make many bills of document, we need to fill in this sign. If the goods have not shipping mark, it will be filled with N/M in the relative column in the bills, the nude cargo is “NEUDED” and the bulk goods are “IN BULK”.
The shipping mark is also regarded as the mark, with the composition of a simple geometrical figure, some letters, numbers and simple words. Its primary coverage includes:
① Name or code of the destination;
② Code of the consignee and consignor;
③ Serial number and batch number. Furthermore, some shipping mark also includes the contents of original place, contract number, license number and volume and weight. The shipping mark is different in its contents, which is determined by the goods characteristics and specific requirements. Due to the huge difference in the contents of the shipping mark, as some are too complex, it can not meet with the requirements in the aspects of freight volume increase, revolution of the means of transportation and the application of the electronic computer in the transportation and document circulation. On this account, with the support of the International Organization for Standardization and International Cargo Handing Co-ordination Association, Working Party on Facilitation of International Trade Procedure of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe establishes the recommended shipping mark to the allied nations.
The standardized shipping mark includes:
① Letters abbreviation or shortened form of the name of the consignee and consignor;
